Houston, Texas (PRWEB) July 28, 2012

The team of HomeAid Houston and Legend Homes/Princeton Classic Homes is right on track with construction of a 7,400 sq. ft. facility for Gracewoods Spring Branch location. Gracewood provides shelter for women and their children who need a safe haven from crisis situations.

Legend Homes/Princeton Classic Homes is the builder captain for the project. Dozens of the companys vendors have answered the request for donated material, labor and services to build this residential facility.

When the initial search for a builder captain began for the Gracewood facility, Legend Homes/Princeton Classic Homes was quick to volunteer their expertise in homebuilding to direct construction. Scott Bauer, president, Ernie Lambert, vice president of residential construction, Aaron Ward, purchasing manager, and Johnny Shepherd, construction manager, are leading the team.

During the framing stage of construction, an event was held, called The Support Beams of Gracewood. Volunteers, donors, churches, board members and friends were invited to show their support by signing a beam with a prayer, scripture or words of encouragement for the families who will begin a journey of rediscovery and healing once the facility is complete. To date, more than 100 people have signed the beams.

“This project has been a tremendous experience for the entire Legend team, said Lambert. Almost every person in the company has been involved in some way, either by working on the project directly or by helping with various fundraising activities. I am very proud of how our team members and our generous trade partners have really stepped up to make this project become a reality. HomeAid should be commended for their ability to bring so many people in the community together for the benefit of great organizations like Gracewood.”

The facility, located at 1617 Elmview Drive, is the third and final home, completing that locations campus. In addition to housing the mothers and children, the new home will include administrative, support services, and counseling offices.
